Here in the heart of Bellevue, Nebraska we are empowering people to Live their Yoga! The word yoga means "union" in Sanskrit, the language of ancient India where yoga originated. We can think of the union occurring between the mind, body and spirit. While stretching is certainly involved, yoga is really about creating balance in the body through developing both strength and flexibility. This is done through the performance of poses or postures, each of which has specific physical benefits. The poses are a constant, but the approach to them varies depending on the tradition in which the teacher has trained. Liv Yoga Bellevue teaches traditional hatha yoga, in hot, not-hot, and gentle/Vinyasa class environment. Hyp-Yoga classes, incorporating Vinyasa style of hatha yoga, are also offered once a week as well as Monday Night Meditation Group (by donation only). These practices are accessible to people of all levels, ages and body types. Liv Yoga Bellevue wants to give students whether beginner or advanced, a place to develop, deepen and inspire your practice. It is our intention to keep the integrity of the yoga instruction as close to the way we have been taught as possible.
